Brandon Roy

The apparently never-ending saga nearby Trail Blazers star Brandon Roy and his balky knees have reached a stunning conclusion.

Two sources with information of Roy’s decision told The Oregonian Friday morning that Roy plans to retire because of degenerative knees, confirming a story initial reported by ESPN.
(CBS/AP) PORTLAND, Ore. - The Trail Blazers will not converse reports that All-Star watch Brandon Roy plans to seek medical departure because of his knees.
Roy was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2007 after averaging 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists. One season later he completes his first All-Star game, and two seasons later he was named to the All-NBA Second Team. It was the first time a Blazers player had earned All-NBA honors since Clyde Drexler in 1991-92.

Roy, a five-year experienced person who helped the team shed its "Jail Blazers" reputation, has been determined by knee injuries and surgeries. The 27-year-old has said he lacks cartilage stuck between the bones in both knees.
The reports contradict statements ready on Monday during a news conference with Blazers President Larry Miller, Coach Nate McMillan and acting general manager Chad Buchanan. Roy had met with team officials earlier in the day and said he felt good and was prepared to help the team in any technique he could.

Michelle Duggar Miscarriage

"19 Kids and Counting" stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar acknowledged sad news Thursday when they go for a routine pregnancy check-up to find out the sex of their 20th child. They were told there was no heartbeat and that Michelle had miscarried in the second trimester.
Jim Bob released an official report on the TLC website, saying, "Earlier today at a routine doctor's scheduled time, Michelle and I received the sad news that we lost the baby. Michelle is resting happily at home with the support of the whole family. We are thankful for all the thoughts and prayers, but ask for privacy during this difficult time."
Michelle said, "After the appointment, we came back home and told the children... We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad displeasure,"
The reality TV mom said, "I feel like my heart broke telling my children, they have all been so excited on this baby and looking ahead to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most hard. The Lord is the giver of life and he can decide when that life is ready to go on and be with Him."
She said the family will choose a name after they know if the child was a boy or girl, and then they'll plan a funeral service.
